The soldier Franz Woyzeck feels helpless after getting his mistress Marie pregnant. To collect some money to provide for the baby he signs up for medical experiments with a strange doctor. An odd diet almost makes him mad, meanwhile Marie has taken another lover, which complicates matter more. Woyzeck is Werner Herzog’s interpretation of Georg Büchner’s unfinished play by the same name, with Klaus Kinski in the lead role.
