Dressed in a wig and with a riffle under his arm and a tape recorder under the other, robber Kaj Hansson (Ethan Hawke) steps into Kreditbanken and demands a million dollars, a similar car that Steve McQueen has in the movie Bullitt and that his good friend Gunnar Sörensson (Mark Strong) is released from prison. He also takes hostages. Among those affected are the mother of two, Bianca Lind (Noomi Rapace), who, despite the vulnerable situation, falls in love with Kaj. Stockholm is based on, as the filmmakers say, "an absurd but true story", that is, Norrmalmstorgsdramat 1973. Jane Magnusson at Dagens Nyheter writes: "Stockholm is a dark comedy where you sit and chuckle almost the whole film. Not at least thanks to the brilliant acting ... a five-star Noomi Rapace shows her comedic vein.
