Above suspicion is based on the true story of a newlywed FBI agent (Jack Huston, American Hustle) who is stationed in Kentucky. There he is drawn into a business with a poor and vulnerable woman (Emilia Clarke, Game of Thrones) who becomes his informant. In him she sees a way away, but instead it becomes a way to disaster for both. This scandal shook the foundations of the FBI and ended with the first ever murder charge for an FBI agent. Above Suspicion is directed by Phillip Noyce, who has 1990s films such as Patriot Games (1992), In The Bone Collector (1999) and The Saint (1997) on his resume.
