The peace in Fireman Sam's small village of Pontypandy is disturbed when Herman thinks he sees a space ship. Soon, everyone has become crazy about looking for space ships and the village is filled with people in search of green little men, led by Bob Douglas and his television program Alien Quest. They mess up everywhere and Fireman Sam has a hard time catching up. Fortunately, the village has a new rescue center and a new helicopter with an extra-large water bucket. Fireman Sam suddenly sees a small green man, but it seems there is something strange going on. What is really behind the visit from space?
