The Garbage Helicopter
Jonas Selberg Augustsén has previously made films in Meänkieli, Höstmannen, and in Sami, Myrlandet. In The Garbage Helicopter, the time has come for Romani. The film starts with the release of a giant container on a helicopter pad in a forest. After that, a road movie takes place – where three young Romani kids drive over 600 miles through Sweden in an old Saab to return a newly repaired old wall clock to one of the kids grandmother. Björn G. Stenberg writes in Upsala Nya Tidning that Augustsén ”has made a film that is important as well as original. This is really, really good”. The film was nominated for several Guldbaggar, Best film and Best cinematography and Best actress, but won a Guldbagge for Best music.
