The Blue Angel

The strict and decorous professor Immanuel Rath (Emil Jannings) teaches at a school for boys. When he discovers that the boys are sneaking off to watch a popular singer named Lola (Marlene Dietrich) in a cabaret, he is worried about the moral repercussions, and goes to catch them in the act. But when face to face with the sensual Lola, he falls helplessly in love and puts his whole reputation on the line to be close to her. The film is based on the novel Professor Unrat by Heinrich Mann.
