Esmail's girlfriend broke up with him, and without a permanent residence permit, he now risks being sent back to Iran, something he wants to avoid at all costs. Desperately he begins to look for a Danish woman to marry in bars and taverns. He is handsome and charming and often gets to go home with them, but none of the women are interested in taking the relationship any further. When he meets Danish-Persian Sara, he falls in love, but she is not going to be the solution to his problem and on top of that, his past begins to catch up with him. Fredrik Sahlin at Kulturnyheterna writes: "Basically it is a well-written and odd story where Ardalan Esmaili (most recently seen as a terrorist in the Danish-Swedish TV series Gråzon) with his combo of velvet eyes and nervousness gives full credibility to a desperate man with double agendas".
