When Molly Bloom's career as a professional skier is interrupted after an injury, she is forced to seek new challenges. She starts working as a waitress at a cocktail bar in Los Angeles, and her drive soon takes her into the highest social circles. She launches an illegal poker tournament for the acting elite, sports stars and powerful businessmen, where high contributions are framed by expensive drinks and beautiful women. But when her tournament attracts the Russian mafia, it also attracts the attention of the FBI. Molly's Game is the directing debut of successful scriptwriter Aaron Sorkin (The social network, A few good men, the tv series The West Wing). The film is based on Molly Bloom's autobiographical book with the same name as the movie.
