9-Month Stretch
The twisted comedy 9-Month Stretch, which has made great success in France, has been awarded a César for Best Actress and Best Script. Ariane Felder is pregnant. Because she is a very hard-hitting, ambitious and proper judge, it comes as a great surprise. It gets even more surprising when the paternity test shows that the child's father is Bob Nolan, a burglar who is accused of cutting up one of his victims and eating his eyes. Ariane, who doesn’t remember anything, not even that she has been with Nolan, is struggling to try and figure out how it all happened and what will happen in the future. In a moment of desperation, she tries to put an end to everything but is saved in the last second by no other than Nolan. They agree to try to find the truth together, both about the situation and themselves. Wanda Bendjelloul writes in DN that the movie is both "spiritual and intelligent".
