1960s Paris. Monsieur Joubert is a conservative stockbroker who lives a quiet and accurate life with his wife in a fashionable apartment. But when they get a new Spanish housekeeper who introduces Joubert to her colleagues, who all share an apartment on the sixth floor, a new, colorful and carefree world opens - to his wife's displease.
