12-year-old Varpu has grown up quickly due to her immature mother. She has never met her biological father, but one night she decides to see him. She sneaks out, finds her mother’s car keys and drives north to find the man that she only knows the name of. Little Wing was nominated in 10 out of 14 possible categories at the Finnish Jussi prize and received the Nordic Council Film Price in 2017. In DN, Helena Lindblad rates the film 4 out of 5 and writes that it’s a “blend of sadness and joy that brings several surprises.”
