Que Dios nos perdone
Award-winning May God Save Us takes place in Madrid in 2011. The city is preparing for a visit from the Pope, and half a million pilgrims are on the streets. The security measures are extreme since the visit of the Pope coincides with political demonstrations. When two older womeh are found murdered in the midst of all the commotion, two police officers with completely different personalities and working methods are drawn into a case they have never before been faced with. Eva van Geijerstam at Dagens nyheter writes: “Director Rodrigo Sorogoyen and his co-writers want more than just serving a piece of murder mystery with the obligatory blue-tinted objectivity at the autopsy, or the equally anticipated clashes with an opportunistic police chief”. She states that “it’s between the two colleagues the psychological excitement rises”. She rates the film 4 out of 5.
