An unknown accident has created the zone, an area forbidden by the authorities to enter. However, some people, called "stalkers", have made it their job to travel into the zone. Where each mistake can mean death, but the rumor claims that there is a room where all your innermost desires can be made true. Andrej Tarkovsky's film based on the brothers Strugatsky's novel Picnic at the roadside is considered a science fiction classic and the story has been interpreted in a thousand different ways.
