Bird follows 12-year-old Bailey, who lives with her kind but unreliable father Bug in a squat in North Kent. When the father falls in love with single mother Peyton, the new family constellation threatens to further destabilize their already chaotic living situation. Bailey seeks adventure and solace elsewhere and meets a mysterious figure played by Franz Rogowski to help her cope with her difficult existence. Directed by Andrea Arnold (Wuthering Heights, Fish Tank), starring Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan and an impressive performance by newcomer Nykiya Adams, Bird is filled with musical moments and strong emotions that lead us towards a significant catharsis. Bird had its world premiere in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
