Mute witness has been highlighted as one of the top thrillers of the 90s and is referenced in Scream, among others. The plot revolves around a make-up artist working on a horror film in Moscow. One evening she happens to be locked in an old film studio where she witnesses a murder and must fight for her life to escape from the killer. To her disadvantage, she is also mute and cannot call for help.
