When Johnny's sister asks him to take care of Jesse for a while, he has no choice but to let the boy accompany him on a business trip, where he interviews children about their views on the future. For the first time in his life, Johnny must take care of a child himself. It becomes a challenge for the loner Johnny (Joaquin Phoenix). During the journey with Jesse, Johnny learns a lot about both responsibility and love, and perhaps most of all about himself. C'mon C'mon is a film created by the studio behind films such as Moonlight and Lady Bird.
