Wendy lives in the American South where her mother runs a diner. One day a train passes outside the window, and Wendy sees a mysterious figure bring her friend Thomas on board and quickly disappear into a cloud of dust. Several years later, the same figure and the same train appear. This time Wendy and her brothers hops on and ends up on an island where time does not exist, and children remain children forever. Wendy is Benh Zeitlin's first film since Beasts of the Southern Wild and is just as magical an adventure as its predecessor.
