In the documentary Exit through the gift shop, the eccentric Frenchman and amateur filmmaker Thierry Guetta takes to the streets at night to portray the underground graffiti culture and its big names. When he finally meets the icon in the field, Banksy, the roles are reversed and suddenly it is Banksy who films how Guetta turns into a street art artist under the name Mr Brainwash. The film has been called everything from documentary to mockumentary to pure comedy but was nominated for an Oscar for best documentary in 2011.
