Jazz musician Django Reinhardt is having a brilliant career in Paris during the early 1940s. He gets to play the music he loves in front of cheering crowds on the best stages in Paris while making good money on his performances. But the German occupation is growing stronger and so is the persecution of the Romani people. Soon Django realizes that his life is in danger and that he must flee. The film is based on the true story of Django Reinhardt and was nominated for a Gold Bear for Best Film at the International Film Festival in Berlin.
