In the spring of 1995, Finland was in a deep recession without the hope of change in the foreseeable future. The World Cup Ice Hockey Championship was coming up, and under the leadership of Swedish coach Curt Lindström, the national team had received a boost which led to the team playing better than ever. The World Cup tournament offered a welcome distraction from the difficult economic times, and when finally, Finland faced Sweden in the final, the hope was raised - would Finland get its first World Cup gold ever in ice hockey? The movie 95 follows the events on and around the ice during the tournament which has become legendary in Finnish hockey history. Among the actors are Jens Hultén (Mission: Impossible - Rouge nation, The Hundred Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared) and Frida Hallgren (As It Is in Heaven, Sunny Side).
