Their finest hour

11 yrs 112 minutes 2016 6.8

During the German bombing of London, secretary Catrin Cole is recruited by the Ministry of Propaganda to help strengthen the morale of the population through films. The ministry has realized that the roles written for women have not been good enough and hope that Catrin can add a feminine touch to the writing process. Together with a male colleague, she is commissioned to write an uplifting film about the evacuation from Dunkirk, but navigating the male-dominated film world, an aging actor who does not want to realize that he has become too old for the heroic role and all the horrors of war proves to be a great challenge. Their finest hour won the audience award at the Gothenburg Film Festival 2017.
