The blob is a classic horror movie from 1958 with Steve McQueen in the role of teenager Steve Andrews. Steve and his girlfriend Jane see a meteorite fall one evening. It bursts as it strikes the ground and out comes a creature consisting of a red jelly mass. The jelly lump then begins to devour the population of the nearby town. Steve tries to warn the people of the city but no one wants to believe him until it has grown and everyone can see it. The question is how to stop it. The title melody for the film is composed by Burt Bacharach.
