When 13-year-old Tito from Uruguay turns out to have a talent for football, the opportunity opens up for him to start playing with one of the best teams in the country. It could be a way out of poverty for him and his family but requires them to move from their town and will also put great pressure on Tito who is much younger than his new teammates. Tito's father does not want his son to neglect school for football, and he is torn between the coaches who demand everything he has to give on the football field and the wishes of his father. The film is based on former professional player Daniel Baldi's novel Mi mundial.
