The President: Lyndon B. Johnson
This drama is based on the true story of President Lyndon B. Johnson's life, from growing up in Texas all the way to the White House. In 1960, John F. Kennedy is elected to be the Democrats' presidential candidate over Johnson, who instead becomes his Vice-Presidential candidate. Johnson soon discovers that he is being outmaneuvered in his role as Vice President, but when Kennedy is murdered and Johnson is thrown into the presidency, he gets a chance to rebuild his political career. Surrounded by enemies, and in charge of a mourning and divided nation, he honors Kennedy's memory by fighting for the historic Civil Rights Act in 1964. In the roles we see, among others, Woody Harrelson, Richard Jenkins and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
