A magnificent comedy from 1940 that is set in a newsroom. The intriguing editor-in-chief, Walter Burns, played by Cary Grant, is newly divorced from his wife Hildy (Rosalind Russell), whom he still loves. One day, Hildy, the newspaper's former star reporter, appears in the newsroom to tell that she is going to get married again. The object of her new love Bruce (Ralph Bellamy) turns out to be a mommy's boy. Walter will do everything to prevent the wedding.
