Little children
Little children is based on a novel by Tom Perrotta. The story takes place in an American suburb. Brad (Patrick Wilson) and Sarah (Kate Winslet) meet at a playground where they go with their children. They both have problems in their relationships and start a passionate affair. The film revolves around these two, but also their surroundings. The housewives in the neighborhood, the policeman Larry, who after a shooting leading to a death was forced to quit, and the pedophile Ronnie, who served a prison sentence. Kristina Torell writes in GP that director Todd Field "skillfully navigates between the spoken and the unspoken, exposes and creates engagement. There is pessimism but also a bitter humor, a string of satire in the depiction of people's attitudes and shortcomings". The film was nominated for three Oscars and three Golden Globes.
