This musical drama was nominated for no less than four Oscars and is based on a Broadway musical which in turn is based on 8½ by Fellini. Italian film director Guido Contini is struggling with his new movie but is struggling with the women in his life. Mats Johnson in GP finds that the straightforward narration and the time and environmental depictions are "convincing and beautiful" and give the movie 3 lighthouses. Kerstin Gezelius in SvD calls Nine "a big karaoke party", but she believes that the thing that lifts this "entertaining spectacle, is not the music but Daniel Day-Lewis body and genius". She rates it 3 out of 6.
