Hedi lives an organized life in Tunisia, where there is not much room for surprises. His overprotective mother has already planned his marriage to the wealthy Khedija and he has never had to make his own decision in life. Hedi works as a car dealer, but he would rather pursue his art. When the business is going bad, Hedi's manager sends him to another city to try to sell cars there. At the hotel where he is made to live, Hedi meets the young dancer Rym and grows fond of her. Rym makes him start freeing himself from the mother and questioning his life. According to SvD's Karoline Eriksson, Hedi is a "low-key story of the reluctant power of love". At the film festival in Berlin in 2016, the film won the prize for Best Debut Film and Best Actor.
