Life of Crime

Life of crime is based on the novel The Switch by Elmore Leonard from 1978. Mickey, the wife of the corrupt real estate agent Frank, is kidnapped by two villains who intend to execute extortion on Frank’s unruly business and suspicious accounts abroad. The only problem is that Frank isn’t very interested in getting his wife back, in fact, he is already writing the divorce papers. The film, which has been compared to American hustle, has been praised the international media. Catherine Shoard writes in The Guardian that the film has both a witty dialogue and high performing actors. She writes: “This is a good-natured, show-not-tell treat, almost bloodless fun.”
