Les beaux jours d'Aranjuez

Allowed 93 minutes 2016 4.5

In a beautiful garden on a summer day, a couple, a man and a woman, sits and talk about love, passion and desire. An author observes them from a window, and their conversation is both part of his world and beyond his imagination. Les beaux jours d'Aranjuez is the film adaption of a play by Peter Handke and is, according to Jan Söderqvist at Svenska Dagbladet like “a Kinder Surprise, with one layer of fiction after each other: the dreamy, sprawling conversation in the back, the unhappy author who dream it all together, locked in some kind of mental house arrest, and utterly, Handkes own imagination and authorship”. The film was nominated for the Golden Lion at Venice Film Festival.
