Mickey Haller is an unscrupulous attorney with the office in his pocket, or rather, in the backseat of his Lincoln. When a rich man's son, Louis is accused of attempted murder of a female prostitute, Haller becomes embroiled in a treacherous web of deceit and murder that threaten his entire existence. Quickly, the case evolves to a cat-and-mouse game of life and death.
