Last and First Men
In the dystopian story Last and First Men, we find ourselves two billion years in the future. Mankind is facing extinction and all that remains of previous civilizations are surrealistic monuments that communicate with the now desolate surroundings. The film is based on the acclaimed sci-fi novel of the same name from 1930 by Olaf Stapledon. Oscar-winning Tilda Swinton (Snowpiercer, Only Lovers Left Alive) is the narrator, and the director is the Icelandic artist and musician Jóhann Jóhannsson, twice nominated for an Oscar for Sicario and The Theory of Everything.
