What do you do when an elf who missed the trip back to the North Pole along with all the other elves suddenly appears and takes up residence in your home? How do you hide him from the outside world, for a whole year besides, until next Christmas when Santa comes back and can take him home? And how do you deal with a father who hates Christmas, grumpy neigbors and an upcoming summer heat that the elf can't stand? Six-year-old Hugo experiences all this in the Danish family film The Christmas family when the elf Pixy makes a surprise visit.
