Eat Sleep Die

11 yrs 104 minutes 2012 6.4

A moving and entertaining drama about unemployment, immigration and rural depopulation. 21-year-old Rasa lives with her father in a small community in Skåne. They both live off Rasa’s salary from the factory where she works. The sense of belonging and security she gets from her job is lost when she suddenly gets laid off. The film depicts her struggle to be able to stay in the village where she lives, despite the lack of jobs and society’s demands that she looks for work in other places. “Nermina Lukac is absolutely phenomenal in the lead role, there is not a single moment that rings false, not a single scene that does not feel credible”, Gunnar Bergdahl writes in Helsingborgs Dagblad and gives out the highest score. The film was awarded a Guldbagge for Best Film 2013.
