The aging couple Ellen (played by Helen Mirren, nominated for a Golden Globe for her contribution) and John (Donald Sutherland) have spent a whole life together. She has cancer and is hospitalized, and he is demented and will be taken care of by a nurse. They decide to run away and go on a last road trip together before they get separated. John is an old English teacher and sometimes forgets the name of wife and child, but he can still quote The old man and the sea without a hangup. The purpose of the trip is therefore given - Hemingway's house in Key West, Florida. The film was nominated for the Golden Lion in Venice in 2017 and is based on a book by Michael Zadoorian.
