Florence and Edward come from completely different class backgrounds but fall in love with each other the first time they meet. They are perfect together. We see their romantic engagement time in flashbacks. It's England in 1962 and sex is not something you're talking about. What one needs to know about sex, one must try to find out by yourself. The night of their honeymoon, at the picturesque hotel at Chesil Beach begins tremble and ends in a disaster that changes everything for the young couple. A movie based on Ian McEwan's novel with the same name, about what social conventions, expectations and silence can do with people. Alexander Kuronen in Nöjesguidens wrote "In general, Chesil Beach succeeds in the often-articulated art piece to say something about our time by taking off in the past."
