The Year of the Hare
Karloo Vatanen is a middle-aged advertiser who stresses through life with no real goal or meaning in life. One day, on his way home from a meeting, Karloo hits a hare with his car. Curious and a bit guilty, he goes into the woods to find the hare and cares for his broken leg. Then he follows his new little friend into the wilderness. “The Year of the Hare is, above all, a universal protest against our civilizations tendency to derail where people in contrast to the hare – to quote Vatanen when speaking to his friend – seems to have lost the last piece of self-preservation”, writes Hanserik Hjertéen in DN. The film is based on a novel by Arto Paasilinna.
The film is not playable outside of Sweden
