When Jake and his parents move into a residence left to them by Jakes grandfather in Brooklyn, he meets Tony whose mother runs a shop in the same building. Although they are each other's opposites, the two boys quickly become good friends. But soon their parents are drawn into an economic feud when Jake’s parents want to raise the rent on the store to match the market, which would triple the rent for Tony’s mother. Ira Sachs (Keep the lights on, Love is strange) directed this drama about gentrification in Brooklyn and also wrote the script together with Mauricio Zacharias.
