A documentary about colonialism and Beninian culture, a fantastic ancient rainforest and the legacy left by Bruce Lee are some of the ingredients in this week’s newly published films at Viddla.se.

He is particularly good at his job marketing a product no one seems to want to buy anymore. But seen through the eyes of his son, he is not doing so well, in Thank You For Smoking. But maybe there’s room for change?

In the documentary Dahomey valuable objects are being brought home from a museum in France to Dahomey (modern day: Benin). But, will the locals still be able to recognize their culture in the objects? The film poses big questions about colonialism, the past and the present.

France, 1944. Julien and his brother goes back to their boarding school after the holidays. When a new student arrives, the temporary peace at the school is disturbed. Goodbye, Children (Au revoir, les enfants) is a classic. In addition to being nominated for two Oscars, it has won 28 prizes, among them a BAFTA for Best Director.

The creator of the film Flight of the Penguins has made a film about the very old and utmost important rainforest. In Once Upon a Forest we join filmmaker Luc Jacquet in a magical world of green, in the pre-historic rainforests, where everything is in balance.

The documentary Enter the Clones of Bruce concerns the legend Bruce Lee and his many fans. Following his short and intensive career, copycat actors such as “Bruce Li” and “Bruce Le” started to appear.

The heartwarming family film Falcon Heart tells the story of 9-year-old Kaja, who lives in Copenhagen. One day she saves a peregrine falcon, only to be stuck in the back of a trailer travelling to Italy. There, she must keep the falcon safe from the evil Don Fanucci who collects stuffed birds.
