The Self Portrait
Lene Marie Fossen has suffered from severe anorexia since she was ten years old. Life scared her and she didn't want to grow up. But then she learned to take photographs and entered her world of images. The desire to create gives her the desire to live and to go out into the world and meet people. Her biggest dream is to have a solo exhibition where she will show the pain she carries inside with her pictures. An intimate and heartbreaking portrait of an artist and a fatal illness. This film contains strong images that can be triggering for people with or at risk of developing an eating disorder. It is important to take eating disorders seriously, regardless of the form they take. Seeking help at an early stage can shorten the duration of the illness and save lives.
