Unclenching the Fists is is a depiction of a young woman's attempt at liberation, set in the Ossetian mining town of Mizur. The young woman Ada lives with her family and dreams of escaping from the trapped existence and creating a life of her own. The oldest son in the family has already managed to get from the village while Ada and her little brother remain under the family's overprotectiveness. The film won the Un certain regard award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.
