I saw the Devil
The Korean revenge thriller I saw the Devil got a lot of attention when it came out in 2010. Secret agent Kim's pregnant girlfriend falls victim to a brutal serial killer, and thanks to her father being a retired police chief, Kim gets access to the list of suspects. He decides to seek out the suspects himself in search of revenge, something that takes him deep into a spiral of violence and forces him to become the evil he has set out to stop. The film's director Jee -won Kim (The Good, the Bad, the Weird, A Tale of Two Sisters) had to re-cut the film to be allowed to release it in South Korea due to the excessive violence, but despite this, the film was praised at several film festivals around the world.
