Abigail (Christina Ricci) is a single mother of two children. When she meets Ben (Hamish Linklater, The big short) at a bar, they jokingly come up with a list of things they must do before ending their pretend relationship, fully aware that it will never be the two of them. The list includes things like learning to surf, kissing in the back seat of a taxi, walking on an abandoned beach… But when they accidentally end up sleeping together and Abigail becomes pregnant, the unlikely couple decides to try to build a life together.
