What Will People Say
Nisha lives in Norway and has a typical teenage life with her friends, but at home, it is the family's Pakistani traditions that govern Nisha's life. When her father sees Nisha with her Norwegian boyfriend, he thinks she brings shame to the family and in anger he sends her to their relatives in Pakistan. She ends up with her conservative family in a country she has never been to before. Mats Gustafsson Hedenström writes in the Kommunalarbetaren that "the director succeeds in the art piece to make people of all characters, including the judgemental father, without clichés and pointers." The film, which is based on director Iram Haq's own experiences, won the Audience Award at the Gothenburg Film Festival 2018.
