The Tragedy of Othello: The Moor of Venice

Director Orson Welles made this drama 1951, which is based on Shakespeare's classic play Othello. The envious and bitter man Jago persuades the Moorish general Othello that his new wife Desdemona is having a love affair with Lieutenant Cassio. Jago's lie affects Othello's jealousy to the extent that he is thinking of killing Desdemona in a blind rage. Will the truth come forward before Othello make the unthinkable? Welles was awarded for his film at the Cannes Film Festival in 1952.
