A serial killer who targets children plagues a German city and the whole community is on the watch trying to spot anything suspicious. This makes life hard for the criminals, and one of the leaders of the underworld decides it is time to join in and search for the murderer so that they can get back to work in peace. When the criminals join the search, the methods become more brutal, but also more effective than those of the police. This classic from 1931 was Fritz Lang’s first sound film and is considered by many to be his best work.
