Leaving Las Vegas

15 yrs 111 minutes 1995 7.5

Alcoholic writer Ben Sanderson (Nicolas Cage) has lost everything and decides to go to Las Vegas to drink himself to death. There he meets Sera (Elisabeth Shue), a prostitute, and the two of them start spending time together. They make a pact: he will not tell her to stop being a prostitute, and she will not tell him to stop drinking. This marks the beginning of a destructive but sincere love story where two broken souls find comfort together on their way to the end. Leaving Las Vegas was nominated for four Oscars and won Nicolas Cage an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role as well as a Golden Globe.
