A Serious Man

11 yrs 106 minutes 2009 7.0

The Coen brothers (No Country for Old Men, The Big Lebowski) has made a film about a serious man. Larry lives in the 60's suburban America with his wife and two children. One day everything begins to go wrong and soon his wife has left him for another man and made him move out of their common home. After that, Larry's career is put on the line by a series of anonymous letters that, on false grounds, accuse him of all kinds of fraud. Then it gets even worse before Larry reacts. Jan Lumholdt gives the film the highest rating in SvD and calls this "morality without sens moral" an "amazing movie experience, narrated and played with virtuosity. Coens - in their doubtlessly most personal movie - knows what they want and set the agenda for characters as well as spectators. So just sit back and enjoy.”
