A mysterious woman follows Richard home from a cabaret and he agrees to hide her in his apartment. The woman claims she is being hunted by two men who want to smuggle security secrets out of the country. In the middle of the night, the woman is murdered and Richard flees. Soon he too is being hunted by the crooks - and by the police, who believe he is the murderer.
