Thursday premiere w.7-8

A film about living next door to a concentration camp, a Danish mysterious thriller about a woman who feels pursued, and an absurd story about the neighbors of Auschwitz are some of the themes in this week's premieres on Viddla.

The Zone of Interest is an award-winning and groundbreaking drama about Commandant Rudolf Höss and his family, who live near the Auschwitz concentration camp. There, they try to create a dream life in their large villa and beautiful garden, while terrible acts are committed just beyond the fence. The film, from 2023, has won multiple awards, including two Oscars.

After a night in the hospital, Lulu ends up with a feeling of being pursued. Nothing is as it should be, not least the man she meets, who sees things others cannot. The mysterious Danish thriller Paranoia from 2024 is the first Danish film to receive Green Film Certification (a certification awarded by Bureau Veritas to film productions that meet specific sustainability requirements).

My Fathers' Daughter (Biru Unjárga) is about Elvira, a 15-year-old Sami teenager who feels out of place in the small village of Unjárga where she lives. Her mother got pregnant at a Danish fertility clinic, and Elvira daydreams about her Danish father. But life takes a new turn when she finds out who her real dad is.

The bear Mic Mic and his loyal friends are waiting for the stork to bring a little bear cub - but instead it brings a baby llama! This unexpected mix-up sends the gang on an epic adventure. Big Trip: Race Around the World 3 takes you through scorching deserts, dense jungles, icy tundras, and up to towering mountains. The film is animated and suitable for all audiences.

Things might be a bit calmer in the movie Mormor og de åtte ungene i byen, based on the Norwegian bestseller by author Anne-Cath. Vestly. This warm story from 1977 is about a family of ten living in the city, who one day have the father’s truck stolen. Grandma, who lives in her little cabin out in the forest, must travel to the city to help. But she finds it difficult to adjust to life in the city.

Chantilly Bridge is an American drama that celebrates lifelong friendships among a group of women in their prime. Their story is told with warmth, by talented actors, and with themes that are familiar and believable.

Have a great movie week!
